【Job Overview】 TATCHA is a modern luxury skincare brand founded in 2009 by Vicky Tsai, inspired by timeless Japanese beauty rituals, culture, craftsmanship, and scientific innovation. We are seeking a Japan General Manager will lead TATCHA’s business in Japan, our priority market in Asia, with full accountability for brand building, commercial performance, organizational development and financial results. This role will establish and execute the long-term growth strategy for Japan while serving as the local leader and primary steward of the brand in the market. 【Mission of the Position】 This role holds full P&L accountability, including revenue growth, profitability, investment management and organizational effectiveness. The role will define and execute the Japan market strategy, build and lead the local organization, develop key retail and strategic partnerships and ensure alignment with TATCHA’s global brand vision and business objectives. 【Background】 TATCHA was acquired by Unilever in 2019 and is now a leading prestige skincare brand in the US, Canada and the UK and is actively expanding globally. The brand has experienced high-growth, exploding across channels such as Sephora and Ulta in North America, and SpaceNK in the UK. Committed to bringing a Japanese philosophy of beauty to life, the brand is preparing for its next stage of international growth and brand evolution on a global scale starting with Japan in 2027. 【Key Responsibilities】 As the Japan General Manager, you will hold full P&L responsibility for the Japanese market, including revenue growth, profitability, investment management, and organizational effectiveness. ⚪︎ 1. BRAND LEADERSHIP & MARKET STRATEGY ・Lead the development and execution of TATCHA’s long-term growth strategy in Japan, ensuring alignment with global brand priorities and business objectives. ・Serve as the voice of the Japanese consumer and market, providing insights and recommendations to influence global brand, innovation and commercial strategies. ・Build brand awareness, relevance and desirability in Japan while preserving and strengthening TATCHA’s positioning as a modern luxury Japanese beauty brand. ・Identify market opportunities, competitive dynamics and emerging consumer trends to accelerate growth. ・Develop annual business plans and strategy priorities, establishing clear goals, KPIs and success measures for the market. ・Ensure all local activities reflect TATCHA’s brand standards while resonating authentically with Japanese consumers. ⚪︎ 2. COMMERCIAL & RETAIL LEADERSHIP ・Own and deliver the commercial strategy for Japan across all channels, with accountability for revenue, market share and profitable growth. ・Define and develop retail and distribution strategy in Japan, including department store partnerships, e-commerce, pop-ups, and potential flagship store development to support brand growth and market positioning. ・Lead annual planning, forecasting and business reviews with retail partners, ensuring alignment on growth objectives and investment priorities. ・Drive excellence in retail execution and customer experience across all touchpoints, ensuring consistency with TATCHA’s luxury positioning. ・Partner closely with global commercial, marketing and supply chain teams to deliver market-leading execution and sustainable growth. ⚪︎ 3. BUDGET AND P&L MANAGEMENT ・Hold full accountability for the Japan P&L, including revenue growth, profitability, operating expenses and investment effectiveness. ・Develop annual business plans, budgets and forecasts, ensuring resources are aligned to strategic priorities and growth objectives. ・Drive disciplined financial management and decision-making to deliver sustainable, profitable growth. ・Monitor business performance, identify risks and opportunities and implement actions to achieve financial commitments. ・Partner closely with Finance and global leadership to manage forecasting, performance reporting and long-range planning. ・Optimize investments across commercial, marketing and operational activities to maximize return and support value creation. ⚪︎ 4. SUPPLY CHAIN & OPERATIONS ・Oversee end-to-end supply chain and operational excellence in Japan, including demand planning, inventory management, and close coordination with global teams to mitigate risks to ensure business continuity and forecast accuracy, and enable growth. ・Drive optimal stock management across all channels, balancing availability, efficiency, and financial performance while minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory. ・Oversee and coordinate import operations and regulatory compliance in Japan, including collaboration with relevant partners to ensure full adherence to local pharmaceutical and cosmetic regulations. ⚪︎ 5. ORGANIZATION & LEADERSHIP ・Lead, build and develop a high-performing organization capable of delivering TATCHA’s strategic ambitions in Japan. ・Set clear objectives, performance expectations and development plans across the organization. ・Serve as a senior leader for TATCHA in Japan, championing the company’s values, culture and ways of working. ・Partner closely with global leadership to ensure strong alignment between local and market priorities and enterprise objectives. 【Organization Information】 The Japan business team currently consists of 1 Marketing Manager and 4 independent contractors/outsourced professionals handling operations, sales, PR, and creative. You will play a crucial role in leading this lean, high-performing team and developing it into a professional collective that embodies TATCHA's brand philosophy. |

| 応募資格 |
【必須(MUST)】 ・Bachelor’s degree required.・12+ years of progressive leadership experience in beauty preferred, with consideration given to candidates from luxury, premium consumer goods, retail or other relevant consumer-facing industries. ・Significant experience building and scaling teams and organizations in Japan. ・Strong leadership and team management skills but with a servant leadership mindset: ability to partner closely with direct reports to motivate and encourage the team. ・Strong entrepreneurial mindset. ・Strong knowledge of Japanese beauty landscape, Japanese culture and Japanese history. ・Excellent Japanese and English verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail. ・Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint & Excel. ・Proactive and self-driven, constantly pursuing change and growth rather than maintaining the status quo. ・Experience deriving and executing strategic, flexible solutions to complex and challenging problems. ・Possesses both a global perspective and a deep insight into Japanese consumers, serving as a bridge between the two. ・Collaborative and capable of exerting a positive influence while working with team members and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. ・High ethical standards and professionalism, driving business forward while maintaining the prestige and integrity of the brand. |
