仕事内容	Overview The Strategy & Insights (S&I) Division transforms McDonald’s Japan’s rich commercial and operational data into meaningful insights that drive daily decision-making and long-term strategic planning. Within this division, the Business Insights team plays a critical role by translating model outputs, analytical signals, and commercial trends into accurate, business-ready Sales & Guest Count forecasts. This role ensures that the forecasting process -powered by advanced Data Science models - is grounded in deep commercial understanding, real-time driver interpretation, and structured business judgment (“art”). You will work closely with Data Scientists, Business Insights, Marketing, and senior business stakeholders to ensure forecast accuracy, clear communication, and alignment to business plans. Job Summary As the Consultant, Business Insights (Forecasting), you will lead the execution of the daily and monthly Sales/Guest Count forecasting process, reporting to Senior Manager, Business Insights. Using the Forecast Model built by Data Scientists as the core engine, you will analyze driver trends, apply business judgment, update factor assumptions, and produce accurate forecasts that guide operational and strategic decisions across the organization. You will serve as the primary owner of forecast interpretation, variance analysis, and communication, ensuring forecast quality meets enterprise standards and supports Officers/VP-level planning. 1. Forecast Operations ・Operate the Sales/GC forecasting process using the Forecast Model developed by Data Scientists. ・Continuously analyze key drivers -P-Mix, channel mix, coupon behavior, promotion performance, seasonality, region/daypart patterns - to inform forecast inputs. ・Compare, align, and reconcile the final forecast with the monthly comp sales plan. ・Input numerical assumptions (factor adjustments) into the model and apply expert judgment (“art”) to refine forecast outputs. ・Monitor daily deviations vs. actuals and update factor assumptions accordingly. 2. Collaboration with Data Scientists ・Provide empirical observations and business insights to Data Scientists to improve model accuracy and stability. ・Serve as the bridge between model logic and business interpretation, ensuring clear explanation of forecast changes. ・Align with Data Science on assumptions, driver behaviors, and model limitations or improvement opportunities. 3. Forecast Insight & Communication ・Conduct daily and monthly variance analysis at the driver level. ・Prepare clear, concise forecast narratives and decks for Officers/VPs. ・Communicate risks, opportunities, and scenario considerations to senior leaders. ・Support cross-functional partners (Finance, Operations, Marketing) with driver explanations and forecast rationale. 4. Cross Functional Integration ・Partner with Finance to ensure alignment with planning cycles and comp sales expectations. ・Ensure consistent definitions, assumptions, and logic with Business Insights and other data teams. ・Coordinate with Operations and Commercial teams on emerging trends that influence forecast adjustments. Typical Outputs: ・Daily Sales & Guest Count Forecast ・Driver-level variance analysis ・ Month?1 MAPE target of ±3% ・Forecast decks and executive summaries for Officers/VPs ・Improved model accuracy through partnership with Data Science ・Updated factor assumptions and forecast rationale documentation

応募資格	【必須（MUST）】 Requirements Business & Analytical Capabilities ・Strong business understanding of Sales/GC dynamics and underlying commercial drivers. ・Analytical depth across P-Mix, promotions, coupons, channel mix, and seasonal/regional patterns. ・Ability to interpret data signals and apply structured business judgment (“art”) to refine model outputs. Technical Skills ・Solid forecasting logic understanding and experience with variance analysis. ・Ability to use SQL for underlying driver checks and anomaly investigation. ・Comfortable interpreting statistical model outputs (in partnership with Data Science). Collaboration & Communication ・Effective cross-functional partner, especially with Data Science, Finance, Operations, and Digital/Marketing teams. ・Strong communication skills to articulate forecast logic, risks, and assumptions to senior leaders. ・Ability to translate complex driver dynamics into simple, clear narratives. Language ・Native level Japanese ・Business level English (read & write). Personal Attributes ・Curious, detail-oriented, and data driven. ・Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-stakes decision environments. ・Strong ownership and accountability for forecast accuracy and communication quality.
