仕事内容 Position Description

Tesla is seeking a General Manager for Residential Energy in Japan. As the leader of Tesla’s residential and small commercial energy business in Japan, you’ll be responsible for accelerating the adoption of Tesla’s energy solutions — Powerwall, Wall Connector, and other integrated energy products — across a complex and evolving B2B landscape.

You and your team will build, nurture, and scale a high-performing network of channel partners, including third-party solar installers, energy retailers, developers, builders, and distributors. You’ll identify and unlock new business opportunities by aligning Tesla’s technology with Japan’s regulatory incentives, local grid dynamics, and shifting energy consumer behavior.

This is a strategic, hands-on role that demands deep market insight, technical fluency, and the ability to turn policy and innovation into real-world impact. You will lead a high performaning team across Channel Sales, Business Development, Technical Training, Operations and Marketing. You’ll be at the heart of shaping how Japanese homes become energy self-sufficient, resilient, and sustainable — one partnership at a time.

労働条件 Key Responsibilities

Drive ambitious sales growth targets for Tesla’s residential and small commercial energy products across Japan
Design and implement market-specific go-to-market strategies for each channel segment, adapting global frameworks to local realities
Develop and expand a trusted, high-performing network of B2B channel partners — installers, developers, retailers, and builders
Lead and execute targeted marketing and sales initiatives tied to national and regional energy policies (e.g., FIT, J-RECS, DER, local utility programs, disaster resilience incentives)
Serve as the product ambassador within your channels — translating technical strengths into business value
Lead and grow a team across Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Operations and Training, empowering them with tools, training and clarity to exceed targets
Report effectively with executive and HQ teams on performance and market requirements
Collaborate with internal teams to create customized sales, operations, training and marketing materials that resonate with Japanese partners and customers
Identify, qualify, and onboard high-impact channel partners through strategic negotiations and contract management
Establish and manage consistent pricing, volume, and incentive structures across multiple channels
Support an operations team across all operational aspects of certified installer orders, including backlog management, sales order delivery, revenue recognition, cash collection, and onboarding
Support the team in developing and executing marketing strategies that align with local requirements including business objectives, customer acquisition, retention, engagement and revenue growth
Enforce performance standards around customer satisfaction, installation quality, and compliance — ensuring every Powerwall delivers on Tesla’s promise
Translate market feedback and functional needs into actionable input for engineering and product teams
Build a data-driven culture: deliver accurate forecasts, track KPIs, and use insights to guide strategy
Work closely with cross-functional partners — Sales Operations, Engineering, Service, Technical Support, Legal, and Finance — to enable seamless execution
Build a strong organization, culture and Tesla reputation in the market
応募資格

【必須(MUST)】


Requirements

15+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or channel management — ideally in energy, renewables, or smart grid technology
Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken) is required
Deep understanding of Japan’s electricity market structure, grid interconnection rules, utility relationships, and residential energy incentives (e.g., solar feed-in tariffs, local government programs)
Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing sales teams
Experience launching new products or entering new markets — especially in regulated or culturally nuanced environments
Ability to interpret technical product specs and regulatory frameworks into clear, compelling business cases
Strong stakeholder management skills across departments, partners, and government entities
Exceptional ability to prioritize, manage multiple initiatives, and drive results under ambiguity
