世界銀行グループは、途上国に資金と知識を提供する世界最大規模の援助機関の一つです。 貧困のない世界を目指して、途上国の経済・社会の発展、生活水準の向上、持続的成長を支援するための国際機関として1944年に設立されました。 現在、170カ国以上の国籍の職員たちが約140カ国で途上国開発のためのインフラ、保健、教育、気候変動、ジェンダーなど、国際協力の幅広い分野を支援しています。 【職務内容】 世界銀行グループ内部におけるイノベーションの促進。 各部局の担当チームと連携し、デジタルや地理空間情報などを用いた革新的なソリューションの開発支援、分析、ラーニング、イノベーション賞支援などに従事していただきます。 【募集の背景】 イノベーション部門世界銀行グループ総裁の後援を得て創設され、現在の開発状況における銀行グループの有効性を明確に示す上でイノベーションが重要な側面であることを強調するため、常務取締役兼最高知識責任者レベルに設置されました。 同部門は、相互に関連する二つの柱を通じてイノベーションを支援・推進します 1. 戦略的イニシアチブによるイノベーション・エコシステムの構築 世界銀行グループ全体にわたるイノベーション・エコシステムの制度化を支援します。イノベーションは世界銀行グループ全体で発生していますが、イノベーターはしばしばアイデアを実装・拡大するための資源やインセンティブを欠いています。 SMDINは、垂直部門・地域へのイノベーションサービス提供、組織横断的なイノベーション学習の展開、イノベーションを可能にするインセンティブと文化の醸成を通じて、イノベーションエコシステムを育成します。 2. イノベーション・イニシアチブの共同主導 選定された優先イノベーション・イニシアチブを共同で主導します。世界銀行グループ全体からのフィードバックに基づき、大規模で高いインパクトをもたらす可能性のある初期イニシアチブを2つ特定しました。SMDINは各イニシアチブに専任スタッフを配置し、関連事業部門（例：VPU、地域事務所、コーポレート部門）のスタッフと共同で主導します。厳格な人間中心のイノベーションプロセスを適用し、 構想からパイロット、実施へと加速的なタイムラインで推進します。成功したイニシアチブは最終的に 関連事業部門に移管され、SMDINは新たな優先イニシアチブでプロセスを再開します。 私たちは世界銀行グループ内外から集まった小規模ながら情熱的な革新者チームであり、既成概念にとらわれない発想と世界銀行グループにおけるイノベーション支援に尽力しています。 【部署名】 イノベーション・プログラム・ユニット 【勤務地】 ワシントンDC本部 ***************************************************************************** 【Title】Junior Professional Officer 【Division/VPU】 Innovation & Knowledge Solutions Program Unit(WKCIP/MDCIP) / Managing Director and WBG Chief Knowledge Officer (MDCKO) 【BACKGROUND】 The Department for Innovation is one of three new horizontal departments within the Managing Director and WBG Chief Knowledge Officer’s office created as part of the World Bank Group’s knowledge compact. Leading organizations, both in the private sector and development finance institutions, have made systematic investments in innovation to address evolving challenges. Organizations like UNDP, the European Investment Bank, bilateral agencies, and the Gates Foundation have dedicated innovation labs, challenge funds, and data-driven experimentation models to test and scale impactful solutions. Innovation is more critical than ever given the renewed focus on impact and on doing more with less. The WBG has a long history of innovation – from the first formal currency swap to the introduction of green bonds and now ‘rhino’ bonds. There are innovators and innovation spaces all over the organization. Despite this, WBG staff often struggle to systematically innovate due to structural barriers, risk aversion, a weak enabling environment, and limited institutional support/resources. At the same time, our clients are demanding innovative solutions to address ongoing and emerging global challenges, and solutions that can scale will have to be a key part of our value proposition going forward. The Department has been created with backing from the WBG President and housed at Managing Director, Chief Knowledge Officer, level to highlight the importance of innovation as a critical aspect of articulating the Bank Group’s effectiveness in the current development context. The Department for Innovation will support and drive innovation through two inter-linked pillars: 1. Build an Innovation Ecosystem with Strategic Initiatives We will support institutionalizing a WBG-wide innovation ecosystem. Although innovation is happening across the WBG, innovators often lack the resources and incentives to implement and scale their ideas. SMDIN will foster an innovation ecosystem by providing innovation services to verticals and regions, delivering innovation learning across the organization, and creating incentives and a culture that enable innovation. 2. Co-Lead Innovation Initiatives We will co-lead selected priority innovation initiatives. Based on feedback from across the WBG, we identified two initial initiatives with the potential to deliver high impact at scale. SMDIN will assign dedicated staff to each of these initiatives and will co-lead the initiatives with staff from relevant business units (e.g. VPU, regional, corporate). We will apply a rigorous human-centered innovation process to move the initiatives from concept to pilot to implementation at an accelerated timeline. Successful initiatives will eventually be moved to the relevant business units and SMDIN will restart the process with new priority initiatives. 【DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES】 Fostering innovation within the World Bank Group. In collaboration with the teams in charge of each department, you will be engaged in supporting the development of innovative solutions using digital and geospatial information, analysis, learning, and innovation award support. 【SELECTION CRITERIA】 • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Communication, Innovation Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics). • A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required. Experience working across various WBG departments is a plus. • Strong data science/analytics skills, advanced programming skills (python preferred), data visualization skills (e.g., PowerBI). • Experience of applying human-centered design/design thinking approaches to work programs. • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, with demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners. • Strong interpersonal skills including positive attitude, flexibility to work in a team-oriented and multi-cultural environment. • Strategic and systems thinker, able to see the big picture and connect the dots. • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. 【Duty Location】 Washington, D.C. |
