(JERAGM) in Singapore is a joint venture between majority shareholder JERA Co., Inc. and EDF Trading Ltd, JERAGM’s shareholders are among the world’s major utilities. Our in-depth knowledge and market insights enable us to capture trading opportunities, optimize portfolios, create value and enhance security of supply for our customers. The Japanese power market is a uniquely vibrant market where the 2016 liberalization of the market marked a pivotal transition towards increased opportunities and expanded service offerings for customers. In April 2025, JERA Co., Inc. and EDF Trading Ltd integrated their respective Japanese power trading businesses into JERA Global Markets, the exclusive fuels optimizer and joint venture of both companies. Position Description This role is for an early-career analyst to join the front-office trading support team. You will contribute to short-term market forecasting, bidding curve-based model development, and real-time analysis of Japan’s wholesale electricity markets. The role requires a solid foundation in data analysis, a willingness to learn market structures, and strong bilingual communication skills. Key Role Responsibilities The responsibilities of this role include, but not limited to: •Monitor short-term trends in Japan's power markets and collect key fundamentals •Generate day-ahead and intraday price forecasts and preparing daily commentary reports •Run scenario/sensitivity analysis related to demand, weather, outages, or fuel risks, as requested by trading and other commercial functions. •Participate in the continuous development and maintenance of bidding curve-based market clearing models •Collaborate with data engineers to improve automation and data cleaning pipelines •Share insights and analysis with internal teams in Japan and overseas Communicate with operational teams as needed to better align modelling with real-world system behaviour |

| 応募資格 |
【必須（MUST）】 •Academic background in Energy Systems, Engineering, Applied Economics, Physics, or related quantitative field•Master’s degree preferred; strong Bachelor with Honors will also be considered •At least 1 year of relevant experience in power market analytics, energy trading, or system modelling. Outstanding candidates with less experience may also be considered. •Basic understanding of Japan’s wholesale electricity market and pricing mechanisms •Proficient in Python and SQL; experience with practical data processing tasks •Clear logical thinking and effective communication •Fluent in both Japanese and English (required). For Japanese nationals: must be able to communicate effectively in English in a business environment, both verbally and in writing. For non-Japanese nationals: must have strong command of Japanese, including the ability to read market regulations, analyse Japanese-language data sources, and participate in internal/external discussions. Person Specification •Curious and proactive, with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. •Effective communicator, able to collaborate across functions and drive analytical outcomes. •Strong interest in energy markets and trading, with good commercial awareness. •Highly responsible, result-oriented, with good time management and planning ability. •Able to thrive in a fast-changing market environment with a strong sense of initiative. |
