products from Hunter Douglas, the world leader in window coverings and a major

【OWNERSHIP】
Hunter Douglas is privately owned, with 3G (a global investment firm and private
partnership built on an owner-operator approach to investing over a long-term horizon) as its
main shareholder, who acquired it in 2021 and took it private in 2022.
The firm is best known for its long-term investments in Anheuser-Busch InBev, Restaurant
Brands International (Burger King, Tim Hortons, Firehouse Subs, and Popeyes Louisiana
Kitchen), Kraft Heinz as well as partnering with Berkshire Hathaway for its acquisitions. The
Sonnenberg family has a 25% ownership stake in Hunter Douglas.

【POSITION SUMMARY】
The Head of Commercial of Window Coverings for Hunter Douglas, Japan will be
responsible for overseeing full commercial responsibility of Japan market to drive and deliver
high performance, reporting directly to the President & CEO, Hunter Douglas Japan.

1. Strategic Leadership especially for Sales & Marketing:
Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the business
Identify market trends, opportunities, and risks to guide business decisions and
outperform the competition.
Monitor competitor activity, report and develop activity.
Lead initiatives to innovate and improve products, services, and operational
efficiency.

2. Financial Management:
Work closely with the President to oversee financial planning, budgeting, and
forecasting processes.
Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to optimize growth
profitability.
Drive sales planning processes to increase forecasting accuracy and ensure
monthly delivery of results.
Manage capital allocation and investment decisions to support business growth.
Complete ownership of costs and other overheads in line with P&L plans.

3. Technical Expertise & Project Management
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team in the design, development,
and implementation of materials and processes.
Enable research and development efforts to innovate and improve materials,
technologies, and methodologies.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive
continuous improvement and innovation.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects.
Measure and increase instore compliance to ensure the Hunter Douglas
experience is best in class.

4. Business Development:
Drive effective channel strategies and range strategies to maximize profitability.
Establish pricing strategy in line with Group and APAC guidance.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market
segments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including dealers,
customers, suppliers, and industry partners.
Lead negotiations for contracts and strategic alliances.
Network with key stakeholders at Group and across APAC to deploy the business
plans.

5. Team Leadership:
Develop and mentor leadership talent to ensure a strong pipeline of future
leaders.

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Train and upskill the capability of the sales and dealers teams to increase
effectiveness.

6. Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, company
code of conduct and ethical practices.
Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential threats to the
business.
Lead the fight against copycats and those infringing Hunter Douglas IP.

7. Communication and Stakeholder Relations:
Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the company.
Communicate effectively with the company global and regional leadership, teams,
and external stakeholders.
Build and maintain a positive brand image and reputation in the industry and
community.

【必須(MUST)】

【CANDIDATE PROFILE】
Bachelor degree in business, engineering, or a related field
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Strong strategic planning, financial management, and business development
skills.
Proven experience as a senior executive in a custom, made to order products
industry(ies)
Deep understanding of consumer goods/ consumer durables/ building materials/
home furnishings market, technologies, and trends.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities both in English
and in Japanese.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment and drive results with
flexibility in adapting to change.
