What we are aiming for in Digital Transformation An opportunity with USJ's Digital and Technology team is an experience like no other. From developing state-of-the-art theme park locations in Orlando, Hollywood, Beijing and Japan, to new destinations, like our Halloween Horror nights themed destination in Vegas and a kids park in Frisco… our teams are at the heart of the new and innovative digital technologies that power our guest and team member experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for working with our business partners and product teams to understand the requirements that drive the technology solutions we will deploy and analyze key requirements needed. You will engage in the testing cycles of those solutions to align and drive that the design meets the original set of expectations. You are part of a global team that is consistently looking at ways to enhance the experience for guests, from planning their trip to their in park visit, to their post return while driving the best experience all around. As part of the Digital and Technology team, you will work in a global and multinational team atmosphere, with team members that come to work with us, from various countries. You will engage with not only team members but with multinational vendors that support our destinations and experiences across the globe. So be prepared, as our primary language to operate in is English, daily; however, having other languages, like Japanese is a plus, for local communications. After joining the company, you will gain a basic understanding of the latest technology for our theme parks and overall in park ride solutions. Not to worry, we will work with you to refine your business system analysis skills. Your role will be responsible for reporting to management both in Japan and within the US. Regardless of your length of service, you will be involved in operations with other parks around the world and will be able to grow significantly. Examples of projects or the kind of projects you may engage in, include but are not limited to: Commerce Platform Ticketing and Access Control systems Web and Mobile application development Gaming and new technologies innovations, that connect the guest at home and in park Photo validation technologies Ride Reservation platforms Food and Beverage platforms Character digitally connected experiences, and the list goes on. So come join the fun, with destinations all around the world, Universal Destinations and Experiences Digital & Technology team, has multiple ways to immerse you in our brand, while growing your career. 【JOB SUMMARY】 This role is to provide technical leadership and delivery for Universal Studios Japan Digital Technology – Integration Services. The Software Application Engineer Lead will be responsible to define, develop, test, analyze, and deliver technology solutions related to the Guest and Team Member experience. This could include writing, coding, testing, analyzing, and delivering both hardware and software programs and applications. You will also lead others in the research, design, documentation, and modification of technology solutions throughout the project life cycle. Leadership tasks include leveraging of Enterprise Systems to their full extents, development or leadership of project development efforts, and the transition of delivered solutions to the Parks Technology Operations team for ongoing support. They are expected to be able to perform as a technical lead from a code-level as well as the functional- level in addition to collaborating closely with other teams (such as our Architecture team) or third-party vendors. 【ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES】 ● Collaborate and Lead business analysts, programmer analysts, developers, and architects in conceptualizing and development of software programs and applications. ● Defect Triage – Build and lead a team to quickly identify defects found during the software development and quality assurance cycles, to assign to the correct teams for timely resolution. ● Liaise and mentor other technical staff to lend expertise toward driving solutions. ● Design, run and monitor software tests on new and existing systems for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging. ● Lead the documentation of system business requirements, technical requirements, specifications, and test cases on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments. ● Support Release Management and Change Control processes along with other UDX Compliance Initiatives. ● Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. ● Perform other duties as assigned. 【REQUIREMENTS】 To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 【必須（MUST）】 ▼EXPERIENCE● 7+ years equivalent work experience. Experience preferred in software development in small-large sized projects with small to large sized teams. Conflict resolution, debugging, triaging, troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques required. Good presentation, facilitation, communication, and negotiation skills required. ● Must Have: NodeJS, TypeScript, CouchDB (NoSQL database) ● Nice to Have: Docker, Kubernetes, Gitlab, Redis, Kafka ● Experience leading enterprise engineering projects or teams is a plus. Self-starter with the ability to manage a broad workload and accommodate change with a proven ability to deliver results. ● Proven ability to be a technical lead and assist in the technical growth of other team members and operate as the technical expert for multiple applications. ● Highly developed written and verbal communication skills (including the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience) ● Adaptability - A fast learner with a willingness to build solutions using tools to which you may have had little previous exposure. ● Empathy - The innate ability to understand the challenges faced by our customers, and the drive to resolve them. ● Demonstrated ability to produce high quality technical documentation, strong customer relationship skills, problem resolution and improved efficiencies and productivity. ● Experience with large scale enterprise system development and integration with agile, scrum, and scaled agile framework a plus. ▼LANGUAGE Japanese and English: Professional working proficiency ▼EDUCATION Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience desired in one or more of the following fields: Computer Information Technology, Computer Programming and Analysis, Industrial Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology. |
