Chief Technology Officer（CTO）, reports directly to President, . CTO is also the technical representative to Leadership Team.
CTO will lead the R＆D efforts in all technologies, from opportunity identification through scale－up and commercialization. The CTO will be responsible for increasing the profitability of existing products, as well as developing and commercializing new products for both new and existing applications through leveraging the both parents capabilities. CTO will lead technical service support to the commercial team business to meet growth expectations through sales of existing products. This role will work closely with Business Unit teams, global platform technology directors, as well as marketing, procurement and operations to set priorities for product translation, development commercialization and technical service. CTO will provide input to develop strategies for greater market penetration and to identify opportunities to expand our market reach of complimentary products that add value to our current product offerings.

CTO will be responsible for management of the discretionary laboratory and CapEx budgets for .
CTO will travel between 25－40％ of their time depending on project requirements
Define and implement the strategy for the global product portfolio consistent with the business strategy, increasing the sales growth and profitability of existing products, as well as translating, developing and commercializing new, high－value products for both new and existing applications. Includes overall responsibility for the following R＆D activities for the technology labs and personnel:
•Research and develop new and innovative technologies, products and processes using the product development process
•Insuring that the products are cost effective by overseeing the lab effort in sourcing cost reductions （raw material project portfolio）
•Managing the existing product line to meet with customer/market requirements
•Technical service support to solve customer problems with existing products
•Assuring that the labs are focused on the highest priority projects
•Assuring a good balance of development, product line extension, platform, scouting and innovation projects
•Transition of development work from lab to manufacturing plant by following the scale－up and commercialization processes
•Maintaining global standard processes for projects. This responsibility would include managing
－ the regional stage gate process and project documentation through use the data systems of
－ record （Innovation Portal etc）
•Assuring that products and laboratory processes meet regulatory and environmental compliance
•Maintaining and operating an effective and safe lab environment
•Foster the zero defects culture and the absolutes of quality management
Career development, coaching, and performance management. A key responsibility of CTO is to guide the
development and growth of the individuals in his/her team. This includes working with the each of the members
of his/her team on career development plans; the establishment and tracking of annual, individual objectives
（including developmental objectives）; managing ongoing performance through coaching; and conducting formal
Act as chief technical liaison and advisor to the Leadership Team. Develop insights into needs of

Support M＆A efforts, including technical due diligence, technology translation and integration to existing
Systems, processes, quality, operations support and safety － CTO is responsible for maintaining and
improving all systems, processes and quality standards for his/her section. This includes management of
all technical functions, ensuring formula integrity in production and providing support to quality assurance
efforts. CTO is also responsible for maintaining all safety standards and for insuring that his/her section
remains clean and safe.
•Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 10 years of professional industry experience
•Master’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 8 years of professional industry experience
•Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 6 years of professional industry experience
•Collaborate effectively with peers around the world to leverage the capabilities of the parents most
－ effectively. Coordinate the activities of the SF labs with laboratory personnel globally
•Drive creative technical problem solving skills and capabilities in the technical group and support the
－ deployment and development of these skills to support the SF business.
•Drive the development of solid technical expertise in key market areas as determined by functional
－ and business management.
•Develop, coach and motivate staff performance and development. Develop/maintain senior scientists
－ ＆ technicians as per BU strategy and BU needs.
•Provide training across technologies to upgrade the laboratory bench strength capability.
•10＋ years’ experience in adhesives or related specialty chemicals industry.
•10＋ years experience in product development in a laboratory environment.
•5＋ years experience as a supervisor or project team leader
•Technical credibility in Hot Melt, Reactive and Water based technologies including raw materials/raw material suppliers, application methods/OEMs and formulations
•A proven track record of leading successful commercial product development
•Market knowledge in the focus areas of Durable Assembly, Hygiene, Packaging,Converting and Electronic Adhesives
•Demonstrated project management skills, including gate review process and electronic project management systems.
•A strong record of people development, including coaching and mentoring.
•The ability to apply innovative solutions to challenges.
•A background in defining clarity out of ambiguity.
•A proven ability to think and act globally.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
