Our Payment Products team needs an experienced Business Development / Account Management to lead BD for all businesses in JP Consumer Payments including Credit Card, Gift Card, Point Program and all other payment options.
The Principle Business Development Manager for Consumer Payments in Japan will lead the business development function for JP Points, Credit, Payment Acceptance and Experience, and Gift Cards. This will include identifying external opportunities for JP Points, identifying new Shop With Points partners, and leading the JP Incentives business across three channels （Reseller, Direct Enterprise, and Self－Service） distributing three products （Gift Cards, Product Vouchers, and Prime Promotional Codes） to clients. This role also will influence the operations, marketing, and product management supporting these business. The role sets new sales and account growth goals for team members and manages them to develop and execute on sales pipeline and account development plans to deliver. This role sets goals and inputs to annual business planning and 3 Year Plans for all products and leads partner engagement and marketing to drive new partners, Gift Card issuance, cost reductions, and reporting and business management improvements. You will be an experienced business developer, with experience negotiating large and complex deals in the financial services space, preferably in Japan. This role will lead a team of few member initially with growth opportunities. The role devises strategies and innovative use cases to add new customers through innovative products.
You will partner with various internal stakeholders, in Tokyo, Seattle, and Bangalore, to continuously drive enhancements and innovations on behalf of customers. You will work globally across our Consumer Payments and Corporate and Business Development. You will have a deep network of contacts within the payment system in Japan, that includes banks, card networks, financial services entities and payments companies and have a proven track－record of leveraging your network to successfully achieve outcomes not just on a company level, but on an industry level.
The ideal candidate will be strong in more than one or all of the following areas: a） business development, including developing a new product idea and investigating its launch feasibility; b） business management, including creating business strategy, owning the P＆L, and managing program metrics.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate will be a creative and experienced manager with quantitative abilities and able to create business opportunities both internally and externally. This opportunity requires excellent problem－solving and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will find practical and simple solutions to complicated problems without sacrificing quality or core functionality. 【必須（MUST）】＊ 10 years＋ of business development experience, managing teams, and working and in the payments industry
＊ High－proficiency in English and Japanese; excellent written and verbal communication skills
＊ Strong financial acumen and an ability to design, build, and scale products and/or services.
＊ Good organizational and project management skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
＊ Excellent quantitative skills. Ability to work in a high－energy, fast－paced environment.
