INSIGHT STRATEGIST –
You will be the expert in the team on understanding Japanese consumers, applying quantitative and qualitative techniques to influence strategic communications plans that drive business results for one of the world’s fastest growing and most exciting consumer brands. You will go beyond reporting ‘what’ people do, getting much deeper into ‘why?’ You will develop rich consumer portraits to understand how and why people across difference cities and audience groups interact with media, the category and your client’s brand. You will be a key member of the team in Tokyo and also as an extended part our Asia Pacific and Global strategy team.

This role reports to: Managing Partner

In this role, your goals will be:

In three months:
・To provide reports related to the clients’ key geographies (prefectures) within Japan
・Provide audience analysis for a new audience segment within the category
・Do a data mapping exercise to fully understand the existing data assets from proprietary and syndicated sources.

In six months:
・Unlock new data sources to provide more rigorous insight development
・Provide reports across all key geographies and shortcut to deliver insights for new geographies due to business expansion
・Present your insights to local and international stakeholders.

In 12 months:
Have established yourself and the team as having deep expertise and value in understanding Japanese consumers and how that understanding can help drive new opportunity and competitive advantage.
Understand data gaps and create research briefs to fill the gaps
Provide an annual calendar for new areas of insight development

What your day job looks like at the agency:
・Quantitative research analysis using syndicated and proprietary data sets
・Reading and distilling third party papers and reports of relevance
・Exploring qualitative insights to better understand behaviours and motivations
・Creation of reports for the client and the team to inform media strategies
・Identifying new sources of data and insight
・Identifying data gaps and producing research briefs
・Communicating key insights to the team and client

労働条件 勤務地:恵比寿ガーデンプレイスタワー
契約期間:期間の定めなし
試用期間:あり (6カ月)
就業時間:フレックスタイム制 (標準勤務時間 9:30~17:30 休憩1時間含む、コアタイム11:00-15:00)
休日:土日祝日、年末年始休日、会社が定める休日
残業:あり (月60時間の固定残業手当を支給)

【必須(MUST)】

Preferred experience and capabilities:
・Fluent Japanese and excellent English
・Experience in an analytical role providing consumer insight and recommendations based on analysis
・Skilled in quantitative and qualitative research techniques
・Some data modelling or query building experience
・Experience in “storytelling” in a corporate context, and crafting clear, compelling messaging
・Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders of differing levels
・Experience working with International stakeholders
