In this role, you’ll combine your passion for cloud technologies and enthusiasm with your unmatched creativity to generate attention, support, and adoption of MySQL Database Service for developers, influencing development practices among key industry opinion makers and technologists.
Working hand in hand with our sales enablement team and other solution engineers, you will help develop and deliver the finest solutions based on MySQL in－the－cloud offerings. Your in－depth technical background in cloud will help partners and customers understand how to improve their businesses using the right database services. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will help evangelize our platform with our enterprise customers, start－ups and valued partners.
The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the C－level, as well as a technical background that enables them to easily interact with software developers, database administrators and cloud architects. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross－organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and interpersonal skills is a must.
Roles ＆ Responsibilities
－ Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market.
－ Experience with account management （Enterprise, SMB and startup） and solution selling.
－ Maintain strong database technical knowledge with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied database approaches （relational, non－relational, in－memory, data warehousing, etc.）
－ Gain industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist and keynote speaker at Cloud Day Events and third－party technology conferences, trade shows and press events.
－ Develop and deliver compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, and discussions to drive awareness and adoption of MySQL as a Service.
－ Identify leads for potential partnerships and customer opportunities in the MySQL as a Service within Cloud space.
－ Collaborate with internal teams to define product road map and market positioning for MySQL Cloud Service offerings.
－ Identify, drive, develop ＆ support community user groups and developer program initiatives for MySQL Cloud Service and MySQL Analytics developers.
－ Create and maintain white papers, screencasts, demos and videos about MySQL Cloud Service and MySQL Analytics services for Cloud with relevant emerging technologies, open source projects, and industry developments.
－ Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations is key.
－ This person will be technical and analytical, and possess significant business development, enterprise sales, or program/product management experience.
－ Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
－ AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or GCP Certifications;
－ LAMP Stack hands－on experience;
－ Database Systems Certifications;
－ Experience working with MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and AWS databases.
－ MBA or Masters highly desired; working knowledge of database administration in Cloud, software development practices and data center / infrastructure / networking technologies highly desired.
－ Experience working and traveling independently
－ Experience with public speaking at conferences and meetups
