Tasks ＆ Responsibilities
－ You report to Head of Specialty Care Medicine （SpCM）. TA CNS medicine is planned to be established in Q1 2021 and you will be responsible to build the team. There are 3 functions in TA medicine, Clinical development （clinical development lead （CPL））, Medical Affairs strategy （medical advisor） and MSL for execution. Your direct report line include 2 CPLs, and 4 MA/MSL in 2021. Your team will grow in the following years as pipeline move on. You are responsible to work with head of SpCM to continuously develop CNS team to adequately support the pipeline moving toward launch. You are the member of Specialty care medicine （SpCM） leadership team and also the member of specialty care business unit/medicine joint leadership team （SPLT）.
－ You represent Japan Medicine Therapeutic Area CNS in Corporate TA CNS meetings. Your global counterparts are the corporate TA Medicine senior leaders as well as US CDMA head （clinical development and Medical affairs）.
－ Via working closely with Japan Pipeline Marketing head, you represent Japan TA CNS medicine in several critical business review meetings including but not limited to Japan outlook, global country visit, global annual discussion.
－ You are expected to lead TA CNS to ensure the Japan clinical development is integrated into global program to achieve optimal simultaneous clinical development for Japan in global context. You are expected to review the local PPSS and IIS that predominantly proposed by MA/MSL team. You are also expected to plan and manage the budget.
－ You are expected to ensure the medical activities optimization within 3 functions, MA/MSL/CPL for both pipeline compounds and launch preparation. You are expected to build a collaborative team that reflect the company's value of respect, trust, empathy and passion and demonstrate accountability, agility and intrapreneurship which are the company core behavior of how to work.
－ As the nature of clinical development, you are expected to lead the partnership with external institutions and partners to enable digital therapeutics which is part of global CNS pipeline. You are also expected to lead and enable the team to challenge the new approaches for accelerating the clinical development. In this context, you are expected to establish your network to global related teams including but not limited to global TA CNS medicine.
－ With your medical expertise, you provide inputs to protocols, IB and continuous benefit－risk assessment to Japan patient population. Depends on the projects and team establishment status, you may need to work as CPL periodically.
－ MD （specialist in Psychiatry, Neurology or equivalent） with sound clinical expertise and hands－on experience in or with the pharmaceutical industry for at least 5 years. Preferable to have experiences in working with regulatory authorities, academia societies and other relevant international stakeholders.
－ Sound medical and scientific leadership in clinical development and people management experiences. Understand the nature of MA and MSL work, preferably have prior MA/MSL team manager experiences.
－ Agile and effective working style in a fast－paced, continuously changing and competitive environment of CNS clinical development.
－ Excellent cross functional collaboration skills with ability to work in global context.
－ Fluent in Japanese and English with very good communication and presentation competency
