仕事内容 We seek an engineer with demonstrated experience in wireless systems such as, but not limited to, research, design, standardization and field testing/trials. It is highly desirable if the candidate has experience in ITS. This is an opportunity to join a team that is pioneering the design and standardization of applications, services, network architectures, protocols, and systems to fully realize the potential of Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAV) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

The primary focus of the job is to conduct studies, performance evaluation analyses and standards development for ITS and CAV in Japan. The scope of work will also include 5G and other new technologies with the aim to define technical specifications and regulatory rules for the frequency spectrum usage to operate these systems in Japan.

The candidate is expected to prepare technical contributions on relevant subjects for submission to standards/regulatory/industry groups such as ARIB, MIC (Ministry of Internal affairs and Communication), ITS related forums, ITU-R, APT, 5GAA and 3GPP, to attend the meetings of these groups on occasion and to give high quality presentations to these groups. The candidate should work to obtain consensus, to proactively promote company's wireless technologies, and to protect company's interest in the emerging areas.

Another aspect of the position is to generate and cultivate industry momentum on new technologies for ITS, CAV and 5G. For this purpose, the candidate should be capable of building mathematical models required to study the underlying deployment scenario, performing analytical and/or simulative studies and developing technical documents/presentations. The job might require some travels domestically in Japan as well as internationally.

Additional assignments are the support of product development in terms of system engineering analyses and device implementation aspects relevant to spectrum allocation and/or use. This requires gathering technology information, developing necessary analyses, coordinating work among different company’s divisions (research, product, technical marketing, governmental affairs, etc.) and communication with customers and/or regulatory organizations. The candidate should be able to operate in autonomy, assessing and justifying prioritization of engagement for company in projects and industry initiatives.
応募資格

【必須(MUST)】

PhD, Masters or equivalent mix of education and experience wireless telecommunications or similar including 3+ years' experience in the following:

- Solid understanding of wireless communication systems and wireless radio technology principles is required.
- Experience in CAV and ITS is essential.
- Experience in standardization working groups is preferable, especially as relates to vehicular communications, automated driving, protocols, networks, and systems.
- A good understanding of radio access layer technologies, in particular 3GPP C-V2X, is a plus.
- A good understanding of key business concepts and being able to relate this to various business strategies for both Qualcomm and others in the industry is also a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese are required

- Experience device driver development in Windows OS.
- Knowledge of memory device, like DDR, eMMC, UFS.
- Familiar with debugging with JTAG
- Familiarity with test equipment such as Oscilloscope/Logic Analyzers
- The ability to learn new technology
- Communication skill to work as a member of team, and to have close communication with customer(includes customer visit).


- Candidate should highlight any experience in developing technical specifications in standards bodies.
- Candidates ability to draft and deliver effective reports and presentations as well as the ability to operate publicly in an international environment are a must. For this purpose, good interpersonal skills are very important
- Ability to work independently
- Candidate should show strong team work ability and be open-minded and flexible for entering new work areas and adapting to a variety of different tasks
