The Localization Group in our Travel Business is responsible for the multi－language production of our global website. It will ensure that the localized versions of the website are clear and natural to each target audience by considering the language of the target market to optimize results.
The [Japanese] Language Manager will be responsible for managing and improving the quality of the localized [Japanese] version of Travel’s contents in our web site.
As the Language Manager, you have a natural command of the language and will ensure that our Travel products are commercially ready, accurate, and appealing to the target audience. In this position, you will establish the guidelines for the [Japanese] language quality and work together with the Localization Group in setting the foundations for translation quality and process standardization.
You are a proactive and inquisitive team player who is able to work flexibly in a changing environment. You are also passionate about providing quality experiences to suppliers and customers.
This is a chance to be a part of building our travel product and join our growing [Contents Management Office]. As we are in the early stages of building a localization team, in your first year, you will be responsible for translating and proofreading until we are ready to transition the role to focus on quality management. This will be an opportunity to make an impact and grow within the Localization Group and greater Travel Business.
This position will be based in our [Tokyo] office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
－ Translation and proofreading from [English] into [Japanese]
－ Maintain the quality of the target language
－ Create and spearhead language initiatives to standardize and improve translations
－ Perform QA investigations and document feedback and solutions
－ Liaise with both the Business and Development Units and provide feedback
－ Update language guides and develop process for continuous improvement
－ Native－level [Japanese]
－ Fluency in [English] （TOEIC Score: Above 900）
－ 5 years of experience translating and/or writing localized copy
－ 3 years of experience in a leadership role and/or leading initiatives
－ 3 years of experience working in the travel, hospitality, e－commerce, or related industry
－ Strong computer skills
－ Experience using Computer Assisted Translation tools
－ Experience using social media that is native to the target market
－ Passion for customer service
－ Bachelor’s Degree
－ Experience living in the target country
－ Experience writing localized copy
－ Third language proficiency is a plus
－ Strong interest in travel
